Last Sekali Saya Makan kat The Cows!!!
In the end, I went to Las Vacas. I had lunner (lunch + dinner) there... If you translate Las Vacas, in English ianya bermakna "The Cows". Kalau ke Melayu... maka jadik la pulak "Lembu-lembu" atau "Para Lembuan" :) As expected, the meat was thicker compared to the 'steaks' found at Malay Western joints... and of course, no black pepper sauce from the bottle. But they had BBQ sauce and DIJON mustard! Yeous... baru le dapat merasa Dijon... kalau tak selalu dok tengok orang guna kat Asian Food Channel aje :) [Ya... saya memang jakun bab2 makan2 ala2 mewah2 ni...]
Went with my makan2 fren, Mr Aizal Kusyairi Ali a.k.a. Cikaro Kiroro. We tried the 300gm Angus Rib Eye (Grain fed) and the 300gm Angus Rib Eye (Grass fed). According to the sales guy, the grain fed meat is supposed to be sweeter. When our orders finally came... hmmmm... Ntoh. Rasa samaaa je? :P As a matter of fact, we couldn't even differentiate which one was which, since the waiter just put the orders on our table. Time tu pulak, I was in the toilet and Mr Cikaro tak pi tanya pulok. Tapi takpe...
Taste-wise... Ok. Memang agak sedap. Well, to Mr Cikaro... it was very2 sedap. For me... I tot it was sedap taraf OK saja :) Maybe I spoilt my taste buds before the meal sebab minom air oren masam dan berkarbonat kot? Tapi in all, puas hati la... cuz the steaks were big and juicy.
Pricewise... the Angus Rib Eye (Grain fed) was RM30 per 100grams... the Angus Rib Eye (Grass fed) was RM28 per 100grams. BTW, both are cheaper kalau beli daging mentah saja (sah2 la kan)... Each steak approx. 300grams... jadi... pandai2 la kira iye tuan2 dan puan2 :) The beverages, for me, were a bit on the ExPenSive side. RM6.50 for a canned orange drink? Hmmmm... Agak mahal kan? Mr Cikaro minum ayor black current... that one was RM7.50. Quite dear if you ask me...
Location-wise... The shop is situated somewhere behind Wisam FAM, Kelana Jaya. Forget the actual address, but you can just Google and insyaAllaah you will find.
Okes... Tu je nak citer :) Lepas ni, buleh start kumpul duit balik. And maybe after 8-10 months, buleh pi makan kedai steak lain pulak... Meatworks maybe? :) Aminnnn...
Bila dah ambik gambar macam ni, baru la betul2 nampak yg Cikaro punya memang berkali2 ganda
lagik besar dari saya punya. Patut la mamat tu pueh ati abis! Chaitsss!

hoih, dkt RM100 sepinggan tu. mak aihhh... dasat. daging dia mmg cooked ikut kita punya preference eh, well-done, rare, medium-rare? sbb kalo yg malay cas western nya restaurant biasa nya semua OVERDONE. Aku teringin gak nak mkn ala2 medium-rare yg pinkish2 sket gitu, slalu tgk chef ramsay hangin2 sbb dah jd well-done. nak yg kuar jus2 gitu and melt in your mouth (angan2 x ingat, tgk harga rm10/100 gm dah nak fengsan tp nya)
ops, type rm30/100 gm
hehe. lebih kurang camtu la noris oi... mahai ooo... tu baru Las Vacas. Aku rasa kalau Meatworks lagik mahal. Tu yg aku kata kumpul duit dulu, lepas 8 bulan baru pi balik :P (utk diri aku la)
Anywayz, yeous... buleh suruh masak camne ko nak. Adik ipau aku kalau pegi dia mintak rare. gilos tul, pasal mmg banyak gila lagi darah aku rasa. hehehe. Aku makan hari tu medium... juicy and still ada merah2 and coooked enuff for my palette :D
ok tak branch kat KJ?? iza pergi yang dekat mont kiara...
Kedai dia tak grand sangat la. mcm ala2 kedai2 tepi jalan je... Sebab keliling dia rumah2 orang. lepas tu pulak dia mcm keliling kedai2 mamak mcm tu.... dan gak kedai2 runcit.
tapi service dia ok la :) tapi time tu aku ngan member aku je pon. So cepat la sampai makanan. Food was great cuma air dia agak mahal...
Cuma yg aku tak berapa pueh ati time dia serve, dia tak kasik tau mana satu grass fed dan mana satu grain fed. dua2 tu harga lain tu. But due to the fact yg aku sendiri pon tak berapa nak tahu which one was which, so lepas tu order jenis yg lagik murah je la kot . hehehehe
But how bout the halal certifications? If there aints got it, wouldn't it quite ironic?... my bet if I got my q rong (question wrong) here sum where...
haha! great q anonym :P Altho I dont quite get the last part. anywayz, i am confident that its halal since the owner is Muslim.
You can go to greater extents where you insist for the certification. but based a a sahih hadith (ain't sure in bukhari or muslim or from tarmidzi or who... but i believe its sahih)... when given between two choices, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) preferred to pick the easier one :)
To me, since the eatery is Muslim owned... so I believe I can safely assume its halal :) ...
But I understand if you have a different stance. Ma'assalaam :)
Hehe rite bro..eniway if were was was then were not allowed...if ur comfy n confi then by all means....got wan restaurant in ttdi or sum where owners are Muslim but they still serve wine n liquor to go with their dish...so called liberalism!!!!...
Eniway bro I would to to u in yr recce for da halal suppls protein..becoz of that..we hv a great choice then...great work...
wah. ok. if that eatery is Malay owned, but still serves alcohol... then susah sket la. Because, assuming they were born into a Muslim family, it seems that they aren't good Muslims (I am not saying their Kaafir, but they are clearly showing that they are not good Muslims... ada butui ke? :P).... So, if the case of that shop... then my trust for them has totally gone out the window la... because now I believe I have reason to doubt their claims of halal-ness... if they claim la that is :D Anywayz, thanks for the info Anon :D
Owh... and Alhamdulillaah you found my post on protein powder useful. I see ramai gak yg ter land kat situ mashaAllaah. hehehe. Just doing by bit la kot. arigato
