Yes... this is what happens when you are too mischievous. Tarus kena lokap... sampai tertidur lagi dalam ini lokap. As you can see, I've come up with the best kid-control-kit.... light, mobile and stern. No kid will ever disobey their parents again once you put this gadget into practice. Hua hua hua! Hehehe. Saya idok le sekejam seperti mana yg saya katakan kat atas tu. Actually, this picture was taken way back in January 2010. The base of my katil murah, the besi2 peng-support tu sudah patah lah. So ni sebenarnya gambar baru balik dari kedai welding :) And my daughter, she thought it would be neat for her to be able to sleep "behind bars"... kira a little bit of fun during the ride back to Taman Ilmu :D Hehehe... The katil was ok after this. However, we ended up selling it to our rumah-sewa successors at No. 24, Lintang Ilmu 1, Taman Ilmu, 14300 Nibong Tebal, Penang :D I think I sold the bed for around RM100 (sekali dengan tilam...?). The apek welding did a good job at making the base solid again. Due to that, orang pun buleh la tidur nyenyak di atas katil murah berkenaan :D Alhamdulillaah. Ok. Actually, ini semua angkara tukang mesin rumput. However, can't entirely blame him since how was he to know that a stone was gonna fly and shatter the tingkap ye dok? Anywayz, Alhamdulilllaahirobbil'aalameen... he said that his boss will ganti (aku ingat dia yg nak ganti :P). A few minutes later, the boss came by, and immediately apologized to me for what had happened. A very nice fella actually by the name of Mansor (teringat citer Kassim Selamat la pulak... kan ke dia kawin Sabariah Mansorrrr). Tapi in all, I wasn't that pissed off. Cuz mmg dah Qaddarallaahu wa maa shaa 'a fa 'a la (basically means all has been ordained by God). Plus, all the people involved were very polite, dari tukang mesin rumput, boss dia, sampai la tukang ganti cermin. Owh, had to go myself to Sungai Besi however. Tapi boss tukang mesin rumput tu bayarkan lah :D Dapaaat cermin baru... hehehehe. Anywayz, itu lah ceritanya. TQ for reading iya :D

In November last year (~2-months ago), I blogged about the fuel consumption of Ron-97 [at the time, I filled my tank with Shell] during my travel from Bandar Baru Bangi to Penang. You can find the post here, insyaAllaah. Yesterday, I used Ron-95 [Petronas], which some claim to have less fuel economy compared to it's 97 counterpart. So, I zero-ed my odometer [that's what they call it rite?] and started the mileage test.

This time however, I thought it was gonna be a bit biased, because after refueling (until full tank), I ran some errands first. I drove my car thru city traffic, and made a few 'pit stops'. So, I reckon that some of the fuel had already been burned between stops, especially during low-gear driving. Tapi takpa lah, I can re-adjust and probably normalize the results accordingly. At around 12-noon, I pushed off from Kajang (again, thru quite busy traffic) to Penang. During the Ron-97 test, on average, I was doing 90-100 km/h, which is quite slow. This time around, my speed was constantly between 115-120 km/h, which logically should burn up fuel faster. Furthermore, it was during the mid of day... jadi I think the heat also effects the way the car burns fuel [lagi cepat kot? tapi takpe, i don't think it will effect that much]

Anywayz... I snapped a picture of my meters after doing ~323-kilometers. From what I see, there doesn't seem to be that much difference between Ron-95 and 97. As a matter of fact, it seems like the former shows better fuel economy compared to the latter. Although in the Ron-97 test, I took the pictures at ~368.5-kilometers, I don't think 40-plus kms will pull the gauge down to the same point...

So, based on this informal and uncontrolled test... I hereby declare... that... it seems... seems saja la... there is not much difference in fuel economy between Ron-95 and Ron-97. However, even after the 95 fuel went through city driving, it still manages to show almost similar (or even better) fuel consumption compared to Ron-97. Sekian, terima kasih :D

PS:- These tests should never be quoted in any academic journal or even in a court of law. The experimenter is merely a man who clearly has nothing better to do :)

PPS:- This test does not talk about the fuel's efficiency during the burning process. Yes, I do agree that Ron-95 might be 'dirtier' compared to Ron-97 :D 

A few weeks ago, I had a chat with my friends Mr. Johnny bin Salleh and Dr. Azrul Hazri bin Jantan. The topic was fuel. I told them that I fed by Nissan Sentra (1.6 SG-L) with the Ron-95 petrol... the yellow colored pump @ the petrol station. I insisted that there didn't seem to be much difference in the car's performance regardless of isi-ing Ron-95 or Ron-97. But both of them said that, I won't see the difference since I'm just using it for short distance driving. The benefit can only be seen for long distance drives... such as going back to Bandar Baru Bangi from USM, Penang :D

Anywayz... I thought of putting their claim to the test. On my way back from Bangi, I filled up my petrol tank with Ron-97 (Shell V-Power), at the Shell refueling station just before the Sungai Besi toll plaza. From there on, I set the TRIP-meter to 0-km. Alhamdulillaah, I reached Penang a few hours later (after stopping @ the Sg. Perak R&R as I was sleepy). The overall journey from that Shell station to my hostel was ~368.5 kilometers. I drove at constant speeds of 90-100 km/h (occasionally going 110-130... but very2 rarely). In the end, this is what my fuel tank looked like.

368.5 kilometers... using a bit more than half of all the fuel...

I think this is kind of ok jugak la kot :D Slightly passing the half-way line. But of course, I had to drive relatively slower than usual (normally 115-140 macam tu). Anywayz, this is just one part of the test. A comparison has to be made using Ron-95... and we have to wait for my next trip from Bangi to Penang to find out, insyaAllaah. Okes... I just want to say that this car is beautiful :) The new (or not so new) Kia Forte... but when sold in Malaysia, it becomes NAZA Forte. Hmmm... I don't know why, but when the name changes to NAZA, I sorta get a bit disappointed... and also if any of the manufacturing and assembly is happening here in Malaysia... I don't think the end product will be of the same quality as if it were done in Korea, or even other countries e.g. Taiwan, US, Australia, Japang (ada ke kat sana?) etc. Look @ NISSAN... some of the cars I hear came out really2 bad due to local assembly... Tapi takpe... nak buek camno ye dok?

Anywayz... The car's design, as I heard was done by an ex-AUDI designer. So it figures, why the car looks so so nice. It's also big. Bigger than a (NISSAN) Silphy I think? Once I went to a place that had both cars on display. After getting out of the Silphy, I went into the Forte. Walaweh... it seemed more spacious! And at a very2 cheaper price. Silphy was almost RM115,000... but the Forte was like... RM82,000? But of course, people will say NISSAN is Japan, and KIA is Korean... so go figure! But I dunno, sometimes I think Japanese cars are crazily overpriced here in Malaysia :( Anywayz, maybe KIA has been learning from it's past mistakes? (e.g. the unmemorable KIA Spectra?)... and now dia orang nak kasik kereta yg lagik ok kot? Ntoh. Only time will tell. But in all, I like the look of this car. And quite a few reviews are quite positive regarding the Forte :)

Harap2 in Malaysia, NAZA will do a good work with distributing the car... and oso after sales service pon harap2 can setanding that of HONDA (can't say much about NISSAN, pasal takde rasa apa2 spesel pun for my Sentra)... Annywayz.... Tq for reading iya. Assalaam aleykom!
