Knock, knock? Who's there???

Last night, I stayed back a bit at the office. Since I had some work left to do, I called my wife telling here I'd be going back late. One of my colleagues, (Dr. to be, insyaAllaah) Khaironi Yatim Sharif dropped by at around 6:00 pm, I think, for some chit-chat. Before leaving, he was about to tell me something... but then decided not to citing that it was for my own good. However, I sorta got the cue that he was trying to tell me about something 'unseen'. Hehehehe... Tapi tak kisah lah.

So I continued to work. Stopped for a few occasions to check my email and to do some Facebook-ing :) Suddenly, at around late 9:00 o'clock, I heard a single knock on my door. It was not faint nor was it too loud... But I could swear that it was a door knock. Immediately I remembered Khaironi and the 'thing' he was trying to tell me. Tapi takpe... I decided not to pay too much attention lah.

Then, about 4-5 minutes passed by. I was reading something (I think) when suddenly I heard another knock. Hmmm... dah dua kali dah ni??? Takkan kebetulan or cicak langgar kot? Again I shrugged it off, but this time, I was getting kinda freaked out. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give my freak-out a score of 3.92 :) ... Ok... takpe... taruskan kerja.

At around 10:15-10:25, there was another knock!!!! Aiseymennnnnn.... Eh??? Tiga kali dah nehhh!!! (Almost) Kompom bukan cicak yang langgar pintu aku. I looked out the stained glass next to my door (from afar lah tapi)... Memang mcm takde orang. At this time, my previous 3.92 score had skyrocketed up to a staggering 8.875!!! Man, I was getting quite scared!!! TARUS!!! I called the 6569 extension, hoping that one of the tech guys was still there. Kot2 la buleh suruh dia orang naik atas jap utk teman saya turun :P You see, my leg (knee) has not yet healed... so memang ada jalan tempang-tempang sikit lah. So, kalau2 la ada geng, tak la takut sangat. Plus, kot2 la kalau that 'unseen' thing showed itself, at least buleh ada somebody to help carry me :P...

But alas, only Anis was there and I can't ask a girl to come up to my rescue? Not that I'm a male chauvinist or a sexist or anything... It's just that it wouldn't be appropriate based on our way of life, ye dok?

So, what to do.... Walaupun rasa takut... I needed to go back, which means I had to open the door! Takkan nak terejon tingkap ye dok? So... after reading a few rounds of A'uzubillaahiminashhaithaniraajeem (I seek God's refuge from satan the outcast*) and also the doa masuk tandas of Allaahumma inni a'uzubika minal khubsi wal khabaais (Oh God! I seek protection in You from the male and female unclean spirits**)... I went straight to the door, opened it and said... "Anyone there???". Alhamdulillaah, no one or nothing was there :D Hehehehe. Thank God also that my work was already done... So, I just turned off the lights and the air-con and locked my door. The walk to the stair case however was like forever, and the 30-meters or so seemed like an excruciating trudge!!! For a mat tempang, such a short distance can indeed be a torturous walk... not to mention the suspicion of being stalked by an 'unseen' :P Hehehehe. Masa berjalan tu, memang bulu tengkok semua meremang lah... tapi tu memang pasal asyik dok ingat ada jin la kot? Hehehehe.

In the end, managed to get to my car, and drove home safely. Alhamdulillaah. Tonite need to work a bit late again, tapi harap2 takde apa-apa la kot. Just need to read the proper supplications taught by the seal of all the prophets, Nabi Muahmmad (SAW), and insyaAllaah... all will be ok. Hehehehe.... Tapi tu la... seram gak aku semalam! Hahahahaha! Oraits. Arigato....

NOTE: Some might say that reading the doa masuk tandas was a bit weird. Hehehehe. But I was just thinking about the meaning... i.e. for God to protect me from the male and female jinns :P How was I supposed to know if the jinn (kalau ada la) was a chick or a dude? So baca saja lah :D Shouldn't be a problem, ye dok?

City Link Global Network - How can you claim global when you even suck locally :P

G'day maytees!!! :D

Anywayz, almost 2-weeks ago, I ordered a printer toner cartridge from tonercartridgesave. Since my previous experiences with them were good, so kira ok la kot nak order lagi satu toner. Annywayz, long story short... today, 20th June 2011, the toner still has not reached my house. [Correction: It has actually arrived, but on Thursday, 16th June 2011... I found out about this after a City Link staff gave me a call. Thanks!] But, the problem is not with tonercartridgesafe. Last time, they couriered the goods via Pos Laju. But this time around, for some reason, the used City-Link Global Network. Actually, I've heard some people relate their (bad) experiences with City-Link. But I just thought that they were the few unlucky ones. Tapi bila dah terkena kat diri sendiri, now I know what they mean.

Ok... I realize that at times, companies make mistakes. As a rational human being, I totally understand that... I mean, who's prefect ye dok? But as for City-Link's case... susah sket mau kasik maaf la. Firstly, they delivered to the wrong address. I put my UPM address, but for some weird reason, it ended up in Seri Putra!!! KUIS, Sri Putra to be exact. Ok, kejap. UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA dengan KOLEJ UNIVERSITI ISLAM SELANGOR. Jauh gak tu? Tapi takpe la. I rekon it was the PUTRA word that made the delivery guy confused :P Sri Putra vs. Universiti Putra.... (still quite far if you ask me :P)

After that, I managed to get a hold of a City-Link executive/clerk/admin staff. She was totally blank... hehehe. Then, I was passed to another less blank person, which led to another person... This person was a bit less blank... but he was blank nonetheless... I believe he just held a position in the company where blank-ness was not tolerable. So he just pretended he knew what he was talking about, and took down my number... and of course, promised to call me back. Tunggu tunggu tungguu tunggu tunggu.... no one called me. I ended up calling them many2 hours later :P

Anywayz, after cakap tu dan ini dan ini dan itu, finally they told me that they would send it by Friday. I waited lah... but again, tada sampai juga la. Not surprising :) Then, they called me on that Friday telling me that the person who initially  delivered the goods dah dua hari tak datang. So jadi susah nak track down the goods ke apa ntah.... Watakungchi??? You hire stupid people like that? Patut la goods sampai tempat lain. Annnywayz, dia orang kata... "Ok encik. Esok pagi kami hantar...". I told them that I wouldn't be at the address on a Saturday, since it was office address. So suruh la depa reroute to my home address, which is in Bangi. For courier people, I was quite shocked that they were blank on where Bangi is. Aiyaa... tapi takpe. Kasik poskod then tarus kasi diam saja.

Satuday came and went. Tada sampai juga itu toner lah. All of this got to the ears of Mr. Nelson from tonercartridgesave. Nice guy this fella. He offered to send me another one in place of the possibly lost toner. And he said, if the initial one finally turned up, he offered it to me at 20% of the price. I think he has also followed up on the issue. Tapi takpa la. Mr Nelson, I know that ure company is good, and I like the customer service very de much :D But I think, next time let's go with PosLaju :D Altho they too can make mistakes, at least I've never had the experience I had (am am still having pasal toner tak sampai2 lagi) with City-Link... Anywayz, takpa la. Sabar saja lah :)

Today, the 20th of June 2011, after my 1-week trip to Singapore, the toner is still not at my doorsteps (I'd be very happy if it at least made it to my letter box :P). [It actually already arrived, but on the 16th or 17th. The clerk in the admin office told me 16th. But on the box, there's sorta proof indicating 17th... one week after the promised date...] Aiya City-Link. Kata City-Link GLOBAL NETWORK!!! Nak hantar pegi Bangi pon tak sampai, camne nak hantar seberang laut? Silap ari bulan alamat tulis Sea Port, dapat delivery guy mengong, dia hantar kat Triton dan ketam dia kat Under da Sea.... Ye la kan... word 'Sea' tu sama.... maka kesilapan adalah amat2 highly likely. Oraits. Shelamaaat.

Delivery tracking... Pos biasa kot2 dah sampai dah, iye tuan?

The death of a character... now, who's the next bad guy

They sung it very well (the munchkins) when Dorothy slammed her house onto the wicked with of the east, killing her instantly!!! It went something like this:

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
Let them know
The Wicked Witch is dead!

Now, I wonder what song they are singing with the death of Osama bin Laden... Or, at least the reported death of the most wanted man in the world. At least the creators of the Wizard of Oz had other villains to continue their story. Now, with Osama dead, or "dead", I wonder who's the next villain.... But don't fret, for I think it would just be a matter of time before they come up with another bearded man to fit the bill.

Anyway, just wondering. Last time after 9/11, I think Osama himself denied being behind the attacks. I mean, why would he want to do that? If he really did it, he won't say he didn't, right? Cuz it was like a big accomplishment for him. Instead, he denied it... and if I'm not mistaken, only said that it was "Blessed Terror" or something. Don't get me wrong. I'm against all kinds of attacks similar to Sept 11, Bali bombing and such. These are non-Islamic acts and goes against God's word in the Quran as well as the traditional practices (sunnah) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I'm just questioning why the US govt. is still insisting that the man did it while brainwashing many uninformed and ignorant Americans (and other countries) into believing that this is the work of Osama bin Laden? Aiya... wa bu che tau. Wakaranaiiii.... Gue pon tak tau pe pasaaal. Anywayz... thanks for reading iya :D Assalaam aleykom WBT.

Owh. Forgot to mention that, now... the US economy is hit quite bad. Maybe it's about time they stop spending money to "chase" after this "character" (notice I did not say fictional :P). Lagi elok help their own people to live better lives.... Not that it's too bad in the US. But it can be better right?

An MLM promoter and Her Facebook Advertisement

After starting to read Mr. Aidid Mu'addib's blog about MLM and pyramid schemes, I have further sealed my belief that such 'businesses' are indeed crap. For that, I thank you Mr Adidid from Aidid Leaks :)

Anywayz, today I stumbled upon another advertisement on my Facebook side bar. The add was as follows:
Just email forwarding to get RM3800 per week? I wonder why George Soros never thought
of something similar in the past. Maybe... DUUUHHHHH!!! That it's impossible to get such income
just by doing something simple as forwarding email... I think la.

As can be seen, no mention of the business name. Moreover... it's very appealing!!! You don't need to sell anything and can get that amount of income? Maan, am I in the wrong business. Anywayz, I clicked on the link to see where it would bring me. It brought me here:
Ok. Gandakan pendapat anda!!! (Multiply you income). And just by working at home. Orait.
Still consistent with email forwarding  since U can do it within the comfort of your humble abode :)

Then I filled in the box with some details. Then VOILLA!!!! Sampai la ke website Vemma:
Owh.... VEMMA ke? Awat tak cakap siang siang?

This is the screen shot of a VEMMA Builder website. For those who do not know, Vemma basically sells a magical fruit juice (and other stuff also) that they claim have healing properties unheard of in modern times. And if I'm not mistaken, it's derived from the Mangosteen fruit? Manggis tu bai? Tapi takpe. I've heard that some people, who don't actually do the VEMMA MLM way, have reported the benefits of the juice. Wallaahu a'alam. Kalau ada benefit, Alhamdulillaah.

The only thing is that, why have to hide-hide one? I mean, takbleh ke stret away kata... VEMMA BUSINESS!!! VEMMA JUICE!!! COME JOIN AND MAKE MONEY!!!!

Ok. I will try to answer that question myself. The main reason of course, is because it's an MLM. People are tired of MLMs and most MLMs are pyramid schemes masquerading as valid businesses. So, if you directly say you're promoting an MLM business, not only people, but the local biawak gabok and also tupai sangguragan will also pick up their bags an leave MALAYSIA!!!!

About this particular advertisement... haaaa. Ni yg aku nak marah sangat ni. Ada ke tulis dengan sending emails saja buleh generate ribu riban? Misleading sungguh. Anyway, if the ad were true... meaning that by sending emails alone you could get thousands per week... maaan. That is soo soo a blurry and (I think can be categorized as) gharar (unclear?) business, which in Islam is prohibited! And the worst thing is that most of these businesses are promoted by Muslims? ... Hmmmm...

Anywayz... tak pa la. At least in this post, if people read la, I have shown a bit of Vemma people's modus operandi. I mean, ye la, takde masa kan korang nak isi borang online tadi tu kan? Hehehehehe. Oraits. Hope this has benefited everyone. Assalaam aleykom WBT.

Facebook and MLMs (Legalized Pyramid Schemes?)

I really really hate people promoting their MLMs on Facebook. You know, those small ads on your Facebook sidebar (Sidebar la kan? Yg selalu belah right-hand side tu). With words of motivation and promise that earning a good income is easy. Man... I really2 hate these MLM trolls.

Myself... I've been to a few MLM meetings, and in one case, have joined one of Malaysia's most prominent MLMs. Some use the punch line of improving your own economy. Others will use the Malay/Melayu argument, which is untuk mempertingkatkan ekonomi orang Melayu. But the one I really2 hate and hope those who use this punch line will get hit by a truck is: Nak tolong orang buat duit dan guna produk yang sihat/organik/halal. Bio benau yeop? I mean, how sincere are you at wanting to help your downline? Bila dia orang guna punch line ni la yg aku betul betul berasap. The word TOLONG (HELP) is totally misused here, and the sad thing is that most MLMers sincerely believe their own lies! After joining that one MLM in the past, it was enough for me to see that this HELP punch line is total bull, because the main motivation is to make money money money moooney (sing like The Apprentice punya lagu tema tu). I mean, how sincere can you be by masking greed with a noble intention? Kok, doesn't that make you a Munafiq (Hypocrite)?

Anywayz... below are some mangkuk hayun adds that I ripped off my own FB page :) All of the pics (except the last one) shows the advert followed by the 'business' website. If you really2 check, most are VEMMA-ians, the magical fruit juice from MARS!!!

Yeah rite... rakan niaga. More to scape-goat downline :P

If you look at this one, and the one after... man, totally template-based.
Both are ex-pendidiks and share the same story of de-motivation...

Try to compare this template with the one above... :)

Altho MLM is not mentioned... tapi kompom kena cari orang. If not, how to make money
just by using Internet?

Yeah... RAHSIA DI SINI... Rahsia akan terbongkar lepas kau upgrade ke ULTIMATE :P

Tak pening cari orang? Let realllll (Biar benaarrrr). MLM pesen baru kot tak carik orang ni....
Poooraaah....

Ok... This one is a bit melampau. JUTAWAN WANITA PERTAMA ASIA!!!!!
Quite the crazy swine statement. Seriously? She's the first Asian woman millionaire?
Tabik spring....

Ni pengaruh Aidid Mu'addib la ni. Hahahahaha! Okes. Shelamaaat....

Blocking outside emails

Maybe it's just me... but I think it's a bit weird that in this day and age, a bank, is blocking any email from outside. I called Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd. (Parit Buntar branch) and wanted to send them a letter. Firstly I asked one of the excecs... maybe this guy didn't have knowledge about this email-blocking policy and gave me a bank-muamalat address to email my PDF letter to. Dok tunggu tunggu tunggu, takdak respon. Telepon balik, ghupa-ghupanya (and this came from another exec), memang benar lah polisi tu. The don't even have a single  dedicated address for customer contact? Manyak pelikz oooo.

But maybe I myself don't know how the internal policies of companies' work. Maybe there is a reason for blocking outside email la kot? But to the extent of blocking ALL email contact? Mcm tak masuk akal la pulak. Because now, I think banyak benda jugak buat ikut email ye dok? Lepas tu pulak... takkan ada email address, tapi syok dok main email kot dalam kompeni je? This policy was once applied in my old workplace, Matsushita Display Devices Corp. (M) Snd Bhd. But I don't think this applied to the managerial level, sebab KOMPOM dia orang kena email ke Jepun utk itu dan ini dan itu dan ini lagi :) [Eh japs... Muamalat ni pon sama kot? Dia ada mention hanya manager ada Internet access.... ]. Anywayz... Kot2 anyone can shed some light? Eddie Ramonez... If ure reading, adakah polisi2 sebegini masih diamalkan? :) Arigato.

McDonald's Delivery - dah mention ada delivery charge, jadi hantar la sampai ke destinasi ye dok?

Just now I ordered a BIG-MAC McValue Meal through 1300-13-1300... McDonald's delivery. On their website, they said that there's an RM3 delivery charge. So, you'd expect that the food is delivered right to you doorstep (office-doorstep in my case). A few minutes after placing the order, a Seri Serdang McD executive (or manager?) called me saying that she already deployed the rider, and that I needed to pick my delivery up at the guard counter of my faculty. Politely, I insisted that the meal be delivered directly to my room, since it's only on the 1st floor. Plus, RM3 sudah bayar... so, kalau buleh, deliver la sampai doorstep. She said that normally, people would pick up their food @ the guard counter.... But I insisted... and finally she agreed to inform the rider to send directly to my room.

Somehow, the rider must have not gotten the info. Upon arrival, he SMS-ed me this:

"Ambk mcd kat bwh"

Mak ai? Mcm SMS kawan2 je! Not to say that I am above the rider in status or anything. But I reckon, at least gimme a call or something... or maybe a more customer-friendly SMS? ... I was then more adamant to have the food delivered to my room. Ye la kan... dah le dapat SMS tak profesional camtu :P So, I ended up having to call the guy... and told him to come up. It's only 1-floor for God sakes!!! (Some people might turn the whole thing around, that I could've gone down since it's just 1-flloor. I'd do it insyaAllaah, if the RM3 was waived. Hahaha!)

The rider then told me that, the norm was for the customer to pick up the food at the guard counter (same old BS). I insisted politely. I told him, in previous occasions, the rider would send the food directly to my room. He gave an excuse that the previous rider had broken the rules (He mentioned 'langgar', then I didn't quite understand what came after that... but I assume it meant breaking some rule.). But... what da hey la kan? Mana ada such rule macam tu? So, again, I insisted politely, stating my previous experiences with the delivery persons. He seemed annoyed and just said:

"Ya lah Ya lah...." - in a BENGANG-WITH-BLOODY-CUSTOMER tone

Another non-professional, and I have to say, ANNOYING response. He came up, with all helmet still on... gave me the food and the bill, without even saying a word!!! Not even Thank You. I mean, waddahey??? McDonald's staff niiii. Takkan tak diajar etiquette melayan customer kot? Lepas tu dia blah macam tu je.

I have to say, this has not been a good experience. And I don't know whether this is McD policy, or McDonald's Sri Serdang policy. But in all, your delivery boy sucked! And what's up with all these rules that customers have to collect @ the guard post/counter? I don't think its anywhere on the McD website? Haiyaaaaa....

Tapi takpe la. Hope this never happens again. McD... (or McD Badut Rambut Merah), if you're reading this, please rectify the situation iye (I know Maybank read my blog once about a complaint. They called me up immediately to apologize. McD should be bigger and have spies all across the Internet!). BTW... the wierd number that I think records this delivery is S145-27/02/2011-23351. Worait. Assalaam aleykom WBT.

Static Phobia

My office room has a steel door handle (not knob). Whenever I open the door, most of the time, I will be hit by static electricity. Now, how do I avoid this? Do I need to nyah-chas the door handle every time I need to open the door? BTW, this normally happens when I want to go OUT of the room. No static ever hits me (I think) when I want to enter the room (i.e. the outside door handle). Maybe I need to figure out what's charging the door handle itself... or... what's charging my hands? Is my science correct here? :P Anywayz, tq for reading :D

Strangle Blood???

(Sandra, if ure reading this... sowwwyyy. Tried to contact you about the cancellation. Tapi tak dapat nak reach number 013 tuhs. Dah tukar ke? YM oso mcm tak berjaya...)

Today, I renewed our Kelisa's long overdue Takaful policy and of course, its road tax. Takaful was done over the phone, and Alhamdulillaah everything seemed to go well. After completing the insurance stuff (cost me RM496.40), I asked the girl on the other side of the line about the charges in case I wanted her to renew the road tax as well. To my astonishment, the service fee would be  RM20!!! Walawwweh... road tax saja dah RM20... kalau service fee RM20 gak, in all RM40!!! Watakunggchiii??? Mahai bebenau.... Ni memang kes CEKIK DARAH a.k.a. STRANGLE BLOOD!!!!!

Actually I had every intention of renewing the road tax through MYEG, by myself. Tapi kot kot la agen tu punya service charge was more or less like MYEG's... then I wouldn't mind la. But since even MyEG only charges a seciput fee, memang WAJIB lah buat sendiri. Tamau aku tak pasal2 kena chas RM20... Moreover, from what I've learnt, some agents also use MYEG to renew clients' road taxes... Jadik, baik la buat sendiri ye dok? Dah le guna cara sama... tak pasal2 kena over charge. Hmmm... I think... from one lecture I heard... this kind of over charging can also fall into a particular category of Riba'. Wallahu a'lam. Need to find out more bout this. Annywayz... this is tha screen shot :D Again, another road tax renewal through MYEG.COM.MY :D Shelamaaat.

Online Road Tax Renewal - RM28.75. Overall RM525.15. Lebih baik dari RM536.40
if the charge was RM40...

RM200.... RM20... Now waiting for RM2? I seek refuge from God :)

1) The Locksmith incident

The fishing boat safely 'landed' on the shores of jeti Kuala Dulang Kecil at about 5:00 pm. Only 1 Spanish Mackerel and 4-5 bottom dwellers. You'd call it a bad day for the 6 fishermen (myself included). Long story short, I went to the car to kemas2 barang and simpan apa yg patut. At one point, was kemas-ing and packing stuff into the car's boot. Habis simpan, terus tutup boot. You see, my Nissan Sentra has this feature where you can open the boot using the remote, without having to remotely unlock the doors first. Kinda nifty :) However, once you slam the boot shut, it will automatically re-lock the boot with that all so familiar single 'toot' (kalau bukak kereta, 'toot-toot'). Anywayz, habis kemas2... I shut the boot. Then, baru perasan yg my jeans' pocket was a bit empty. Then I realized... aramak... mana aku boh konci kereta tadi? Then only I realized the reality and horror of the situation... My kunci is in the BOOT!

So, cannot do what what la. The orang kampung tried to help by trying to insert pembaris besi and bent steel through the window opening... but to no avail. They said for Protons and Peroduas, it would've been  synch. But with this Nissan... they cannot figure out how.

Again, long story short... called a locksmith. He finally arrived @ the scene from Mergong [dekat 40++ kilometer dari tempat kejadian] - at dekat 11:00 pm jugek la. Worked on the door using a detective-like locksmith set. Looks something like this, but his was more complete (the guy can pry open Mercs and BMWs for crying out loud!!!):

Rembatted from here

Total working time: 1-minute 30-seconds.
Total charge: RM200 :)

Ok. Yes, terbang begitu saja. Tapi takpa... Qaddarallaahu Wa Ma Shaa 'a Fa'ala (Muslim 4/2052).

[Mr Akhmal Ikan Tenggiri and Cikgu Othman were kind enough to accompany me throughout the whole ordeal. I really2 appreciate the help and company. Forever I will remember your jasa my friends :)]

2) The Clamping Incident

Hahahahaha! This one is very2 funny for me. I mean, memang hari ni laaa nak balik ke Bangi. Hari ni jugak laa I forget to change parking spot since I had to meet with my supervisor. So, end up kena clamp lah :) I applaud the USM security however, for enforcing such rules. I totally agree with this clamping thinggy. It avoids people to park in unwanted places during active traffic. For my case, normally I park at this particular place during the night, when no other cars are around. But today, I simply ter-forgot!!!! I spent the night in the lab U see, since I oredi surrendered my room back to USM. So, lupa yang kereta parked kat tempat illegal. Tarus kena clamp lah. Padan muka... Tapi takpa, belajar dari kesilapan. The security people were polite and actually gave me a 'discount'. Normally, if people parked illegally at such places (that obstructs traffic), kena RM50!!! Alhamdulillaah dapat kurang dari tu.

[To Harnee Saad, if you're reading this entry... jgn mare sama saya no. Aku park mmg time orang tak lalu. Jadik tidak menganggu sapa2 (as a matter of fact, mmg kalau ada orang pon tak menganggu). Cuma tempat parking nya mmg bukan utk parking lah :) Itu saja. Tapi walau macam mana pon, salah tetap salah. Saman kena bayar juga. Dan aku masih bersama dengan kau utk anti orang parking tempat2 tak patut... hehehe]

Total fine: RM20.

Alhamdulillaah my friend Samiq was there (Pakistani guy who works at the Arab shop), and lent me his motor sikal. You see, I had to go to the Bendahari first to pay the fine. Only then I could call security to un-clamp my vehicle.

I read this banner once. Today, they actually erected a sign board right next to my car.
I can only imagine the pleasure the security people must've had when a car
was parked directly under where the signboard was erected (I think they erected it this morning, since
semalam memang takde lagik...)

Hahahahaha! Padan muka... sapa suruh lupa?

Okes. So there you have it. And all of this during my last-kopek sessions. RM200 [last kopek trip memancing], then RM20 [last kopek jumpa supervisor time cuti belajar]... From a pattern recognition perspective... the next occurrence should be RM2 :P Hahahah! Okes. Itu saja. TQ for reading iya...

If you gotta go round corners, meanin you ain't tellin (or SELLIN) the truth :)

Multi-level marketing crack heads are invading my Facebook wall :'( They have to disguise their actual website theme (or even name) with unrelated things in order to get published. Already told FB that such ads were 'OFFENSIVE' [which is quite a serious answer], and I think the FB bots have done a good job at rooting out the actual MLM promotions. Tapi, sesetengah makhluk tu letak laa pulak website dia as anakku.com - such as the example shown below:

Habau nye hawau

Tapi, in the end, tengok2 VEMMA! I did click just to satisfy my curiosity. The worst thing that it could do is to kill a cat, and there ain't no cat within a 50-mile radius from where I'm viewin' this from :) Anywayz, this is the normal way how MLM works lah. Have to disguise themselves so that people won't actually know who they are. Kalau cakap je VEMMA, sah2 ramai tarus lari cabut angkat kaki. But if the say anakku.com or some other crappy non-MLM name, and then tell people that they make lots of $$$, then there's a chance people will want to click to see what the fuss is all about. But upon arrival to the actual website, many will of course leave lah. Unless, for those who don't know what Vemma is all about... and also for those who might have cair-ed by the kata2 of some hardcore Vemma-ians :D Anywayz, I just think this sucks :D

Anwyayz.... Drive elok2 balik kg. utk TBC iya :D Salaaam aleykom WBT.

BAS-LOL!!! - LOL is not short for laughing-out-loud

I wonder why this driver (yg obviusly kurang sel otak) chose to 'park' his bus in the most inappropriate place. This was taken in Kajang (Selangor), and the traffic light was red. All motorists stopped before the yellow boxes (petak kuning). But this brainless driver, I have no idea why... chose to stop in the petak kuning... and waited until the light turned green. There was still space in front, but the driver chose to stop in the place where he's not supposed to stop in!!! Hmmm... For this act, I grant him the label and title BAS-LOL... short for Bas-Driver-Bahlol :D Sekian, terima kasih.

Bas-lol in action :)

Thanks, But No Thanks Mr Jack...

Slept in quite early (before 1:30 am, I think), so was able to wake up early, Alhamdulillaah. Since it was early (5:30++am), I thought I could make it to the Subuh prayers @ the masjid (amat2 jarang2 berlaku, but hopefully lebih kerap after this). Anywayz... was walking down the road from my hostel towards the masjid. The walkway is nice, and normally I'd see a few old Chinese men either walking or jogging at this time in the early morn. This morning, also I saw somebody who seemed to be a jogger... We crossed path, and from 3-4 meters away, he greeted me with "Good Morning!!!" ... owh, apek tua in his 60s rupanya... We had a chat...

Jogger: Good morning!!!

Alfian: Good morning :D

Jogger: What are you doing here? [yes, the question was almost this direct... but since he had a gleeful smile, layan saja la...]

Alfian: Owh, I am doing PhD here. Computer Science.

Jogger: Ok. So you will become lecturer and get better pay after this?

Alfian: I hope so, as long as my university doesn't come up with brand new policies. You never know...

Jogger: So you married? [Hmmm... ok. A valid question...]

Alfian: Yeah, two kids alerady. My wife's in Bangi btw. Finishing already, so she went back first.

Jogger: Wah, you can take it?

Alfian: Hahaha... yeah. It's ok. Not that big a deal. I go back once a month when the 'economy' allows.

Jogger: How old are you?

Alfian: 33... going 34 this year (baru teringat dah masuk 2011...)

Jogger: Ok. Wah, you know you can go to Padang Kota Lama... you can find Indonesians and other foreign nationalities that can offer you sex you know.

Alfian: [Dalam hati.... Whattt??? But since this is not my first encounter with these kinds, was able to keep a straight face] ... Owh? Ya ka?

Jogger: Yes... you can also get other services there.

Alfian: [Showing interest while planning a get away] Owh, you mean we can get it for cheap over there?

Jogger: No laaah. You can get for free. These foreigners, they also want it whattt?

Alfian: Owh, ok... Hmmmm.....

Jogger: They also have these men, who offer you oral sex [while looking @ my crotch]

Alfian: [Crap, not these gay kinds again! Why can't I attract those hot chick types... hehehe...] Owh. Really? Hmmmm... [looking away]

Jogger: So, have you tried oral sex? [I am assuming he's asking about man-to-man type of stuff]

Alfian: Owh... no. I am a straight shooter :) Don't go for those kinds of things.

Jogger: Owh, really ah? You know you can get it over there [while also looking @ my crotch]

Alfian: [Aiya, plz stop looking there]. Owh, anywayz... I think I gotta go now. I need to be somewhere [while looking @ my watch, which has a light function]...

Jogger: Owh, where are you going?

Alfian: Over there, the mosque to do my prayers.

Jogger: Owh, ok then.

Alfian: Ok, nice meeting you Mr....?

Jogger: Jack.

Alfian: Ok. Nice meeting you Jack [dalam hati, Thanks, but no thanks Mr Jack]

Itu lah kisah di pagi2 kliwon hari Selasa ni. For a 60++ year old, he was quite fit. So I was kinda scared that he might tai-bo me into submission or something. Hahahaha! Maybe the wife (if he was once straight) can't 'deal' with him anymore, so now out looking for adventure. Aiya... I know these types of people exist, but never thought I'd really meet one in the flesh who openly keeps staring @ my zipper. Hmmm. Anywayz... I really2 hope I don't run into him again after this. If not, have to try and give karate and show disrespect to (this type of) elder.... Oraits :D Tq for reading iya. Assalaam aleykom WBT.

My friend's hand and Seberang Jaya Hospital

Assalaamun Aleykom :) It's been a long time since I updated this blog. Been too occupied with other things to even think about updating... Tapi takpe. Ni dah ada kelapangan, so insyaAllaah can update.

Almost a month ago, myself and two other friends decided to go to the Seberang Perai area to eat Nasi Burung. It's something like Nasi Ayam only they use Burung Puyuh (Quayle?) instead of chicken. Unfortunately, the shop was closed that night (and apparently still closed until today) so we opted for the next best thing... Nasi Ayam :P Anwyayz, it was raining... so we sorta rushed into the road-side shop-stall establishment. My friend, an Iranian, in his haste, accidentally hit his hand on a parked motorcycle's side mirror. Weird enough, there was shattering sound! Then he realized that his hand was bleeding... So he showed us the wound, and I told him to go wash the blood off @ the sink. To our astonishment and shock... the wound was more serious than a skin or flesh wound! We could actually see the white lines resembling the tendons! Hecks... those were his tendons!!! Aiyaaa!!! So deep the wound. So, cancel makan... straight away go seek treatment! It was a deep wound, and the blood was poring out like tap water!!! [after inspecting the motor's side mirror, we saw that it was already broken! so my fren didn't break it, but to his misfortune, his hand hit one of the chard that was pointing outwards... freak accident as some may say].

A trip to a nearby clinic proved futile as they didn't have the means to treat such deep wounds. We were told to go to the Seberang Jaya hospital. After reaching the emergency ward, Alhamdulillaah, my friend got almost immediate treatment. But the thing is... he was given the wrong diagnosis. The doctor in charge told him that it was a skin wound... meaning that only the skin was badly torn off. So, they ended up giving him an injection and stitched his hand up (btw, a nurse did all this). Although we gave a sigh of relief, there were still doubts...

"How can a skin tear cause so much blood to be spilled? I mean, one of his fingers even has movement problems..."

Anywayz, we went back to Penang island after that... no nasik burung or nasik ayam. Last sekali makan kedai mamak Subaidah jugak. Hahahahaha! Tapi takpe. Kenyang jugek.

At the room, I noticed that his bandaging (which was only a gauze secured by two of those white medical selo tapes) had a blood spot a bit smaller than the size of a one-cent coin. We were a bit worried. Tapi takpe. Tidur dulu. The next day, the spot grew and envelpoed the whole gauze. Okes... ni dah serius ni. Long story short, we decided to get a 2nd. opinion from the USM clinic. Tarussss!!! The doctor in charge referred my friend to the Penang General Hospital, since he/she told him that it was a tendon problem! Maybe a tendon cut/tear since he cannot move his fingers properly.

Again, long story short, at the Penang hospital... my friend had to undergo SURGERY! Because the tendon was quite badly cut. And the doctors there said that it was lucky that he came early... if not, the tendon might have moved more to the upper part of his arm, which would call for an operation requiring general anesthesia. Thrid long story short, ALHAMDULILLAAH... he was successfully operated upon. And after that, the follow up treatments seem to be showing positive signs.

Now he seems to be recovering. Didn't want to write about this until I feel comfortable that he would make a full recovery. Although now his hand is still bandaged, it seems that he will be doing fine (altho now he is forced to become a lefty :P). Anywayz, I just wonder how the Seberang Jaya hospital made such a big mess out of something that was clear! I mean, me and my other friend are not medical doctors... but we sort'a suspected that it was more than a skin tear when a person cannot move his/her finger... right? Mana itu doktor dapat dia punya degree pon tatau. Maybe one of those bogus degrees... like that one Malaysian (non-mdeical) Dr.? Hmmmm.... Anywayz... really2 disappointed with the Seberang Jaya hospital. Heard bad stories before, but this is the first time I saw it happen first hand....

Anwyayz, in all... Alhamdulillaah that my fren is all ok. Oraits. Tq for reading iya :D Assalaam aleykom WBT.

How do you rate this fella...

This is a story about a person... How would you judge this person? I will give a few examples of what the person will normally say. Firstly, he/she will give an initial statement about something. Then, after a period of weeks, months or even years, he/she will give a totally contradictory statement. Being a supposed authority in his/her field... it's weird that such statements are actually being uttered:

Initial statement:
This is a well done job! It's worth more than what the face value is. This person has outdone herself. Great work person X!

Contradictory statement: (while also referring to the same work):
Owh. Do not follow this work. Although much time was spent on it by myself and person X, it's quality is questionable. Do not refer to it. It is (almost) rubbish!
==================

Initial statement:
This thing you are doing is not worth a single cent! You will be in trouble if you continue like this. Beef up this thing you have or you shall not see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Contradictory statement: (while referring to the same work, which was not modified that much)
This is what we should aspire to. This is what  I was expecting. We shall place the bar here. After this, all works should AT LEAST be like this one!!!
==================

Initial statement:
You can do this without using technique XYZ. It is not necessary to use it if you can get the job done. So go ahead and ignore XYZ. Go as you please but make it gooood.

Contradictory statement:
Why have you not chosen to use complicated techniques such as, say... XYZ? People are looking for techniques such as XYZ nowadays you know... So, use XYZ or else you dieeeee!!!
==================

Initial statement:
Congratulations on having been selected for award X! You are a very good employee!!!

Contradictory statement:
Owh, after thinking about it, I don't think you deserve that award. I wonder why they even considered you for that award. Sorry to say, but from my expert knowledge, you truly do not deserve it.
==================

Initial statement:
I am totally interested for you to go work at place XYZ. It is a very prestigious establishment!!! It will give great opportunities for you, as well as myself since we are linked in discipline. Go there, and I will provide the initial funding.

Contradictory statement:
Owh, after looking into it (and after the employee has sacrificed everything in order to go to company XYZ), I have no interest in this place. You can go if you want to. Use your own money though.
==================

These are very2 interesting facts obtained by one 'employee' during the duration of his/her stay at 'company ABC'. Of course, the statements came from his/her 'boss'. Given a similar situation, how would you judge this 'boss'? Anywayz... just food for thought :D Ok, not really food... sorta like ruined food... or something like that :D hehehe. Okes. Shelamaaaat.

Again, Halal Status issue... :)

(Thanks MMQ Imran for the link to this useful article)

An article published online (offline pun ada ke?) yesterday realized my fears that kopitiams around Malaysia aren't actually 100% halal. Please refer here for the article. It seems that, some of the private halal certificate providers simply conduct their halal 'check' via the telephone. I mean... this is so not the way to do it.

Why? Because (most) non-Muslims don't understand fully what halal is all about... So what they think is halal, might not be in actuality, halal. It's the job of the halal cert provider lah to make sure things are safe to be consumed by Muslims. If they dare to set up companies to do such jobs... they SHOULD do it properly, because the main thing is not the monetary gain. But the guarantee that the food is safe to consume.

Some as who is to blame? JAKIM for having too strict rules that some eateries just ignore going through them and instead go for the private halal companies? The private companies... well of course they want $$$. Making $$$ is not wrong, as a matter of fact it's encouraged is Islam. But when ure tying  religious beliefs to the business,  make sure you do a good job... cuz that knot you tied might just be the knot that pulls you down to the depths of "unknown"

Response 2 U :) - automatic date update?

I think I clicked on one of the ads on my Facebook homepage/profile page... which brought me to this Response 2 U website (a dot ws website btw...). Basically, this site promotes a program that can make you a millionaire within... somewhere between 33.33 (FULL TIME basis earning 30,000 p/m) to 66.67 (PART TIME basis earning 15,000 p/m) months. All you have to do is respond to their clients. Haha! Yes, just respond. Respond to what? I don't know. Maybe respond to the client's call of nature? Respond to the client's email? Ntoh. Business looks very2 blurry, while promising virtually limitless income! Has the word 'SCAM' written all over it. And yes, of course there are success stories of kids and sometimes old people, who seemingly do not know that much about computers, but yet are making tons of cash just by responding to who knows what...???

Anwyayz, I actually wanted to do this thing for quite some time. It's just I kept forgetting since its really2 not important. Haha! Ok... Basically, if you've been to such sites, they'll say something like:

"REGISTER TODAY!!! THIS IS A LIMITED TIME OFFER. THE NORMAL LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP FEE IS $500.00. BUT FOR TODAY, IT WILL ONLY BE $45.00. SIGN UP NOW AND DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY AND GREAT DISCOUNT!!! THIS OFFER IS ONLY FOR A LIMITED TIME AND EXPIRES TODAY @ 23 JUNE 2010!!! ACT QUICKLY!!!

Well, somehow I accidentally remembered this thing I wanted to do, and I think it would make a good blog post :) Something to share with my fellow friends :) Anyhow, this expiry date thinggy... (in the above example - 23 June 2010) can be really2 effective. Especially if the opening credits are well written and enticing. But in the end, it's another way to lure people to signup @ a supposedly cheap price. Well, the program's normally worth ZIT, so either way the scammers are gonna make a fortune :P

Anywayz, what I did was take two snapshots of the site at different dates. The hypothesis was "If this is not a scam, then the membership fee will go up to the normal RM490". The results were predictable... The two pics below were taken on the 15th. of June 2010 and 23rd. of June 2010, respectively. Notice how the dates have changed!!! Not a so limited-time offer I guess... :D Okes. Shelaamat and TQ for reading iya. Assalaam aleykom WBT.

15th. June - RM69 and not RM490!!! Weh!!! Ni offer baaaikkk punya ni wehhh!!!! Musti join! Musti join!!!

Wallweh? Dia orang dah extend expiry date ke 24th June 2010!!! Lupa join ari tu, baik aku join hari ni!!! Musti join! Musti join!!!
